1. How much space do I need for the castle?
This depends on the size of the castle you are hiring, but generally you will need a clear area of at least 3ft wider and higher and at least 8ft longer than the size of the castle you are hiring. The ground should be quite level and no sharp bushes or objects should be near enough to come into contact with the castle. Height is usually the main problem for indoor venues.

2. What methods of payment do you accept?
You can pay by either cash or cheque. Sorry we do not take credit cards at this time.

3. What about insurance?
We have full public liability insurance. Unless we are supervising the castle, the insurance does not provide you with any cover for injuries caused by neglect or incorrect supervision of the hirer or for any damage caused to our castles. (This is standard with all hire companies) However accidental damage to our equipment is available at 10% of the hire charge. See terms and conditions for more detail.

4. Do I need to pay a booking deposit?
No. We take people at their word. All we ask is that if you need to cancel a booking then you do so with us as soon as possible. The exception to this is when the hire is outside of our normal delivery area.

7. Can the castles go on concrete or tarmac?
There is no reason why not as far as the castle in concerned. A ground sheet can be provided if required. However child safety would be the hirers concern. We do supply crash mats if required. Please tell us if your castle will not be sited on grass.

8. Are there any age limits on your castles?
Yes, our castles are made for children 14 and under. We do however have several castles that can be hired out for adults or whole families. Harry's Secret Chamber is only suitable for under 11 year olds and our 10' castle is only suitable for the under 9's.

9. What happens on the day of hire?
Most parties are in the afternoon and so we will deliver and set up your Castle between 8.00 am and 12 noon. (Please make sure someone is in to take delivery.) We will ensure your castle is securely pegged down and is in full working order. We will also answer any questions you may have and ask you to examine the castle for any damage. We then come and take the castle away after your party has finished usually from 5pm onwards. If your party is in the morning or in the evening then delivery and pick up time can be arranged to suit you. Adult hire is often for the evening and so pick up time can be as late as 11pm. Again time can be adjusted to suit you.

10. How far away from Whitby will you deliver a castle?
It starts to get time consuming beyond 12 or so miles and so a delivery charge has to be made for diesel and wages.
